Pam & Nate ~ The Oaks ~ 12/10/11 ~ wedding

Posted on February 9, 2012

I had the privilege of photographing Pam and Nate’s wedding back in December  at The Oaks out near St Michael’s on the eastern shore along with my good friend Stacy Meadows. The Oaks is a beautiful venue…whether it’s summer time or in the winter months. There’s something about being on the water that makes it magical.

Pam was beautiful and the excitement of the day resonated through their families. We had fun shooting the portraits out near the barns on the grounds. The moon even made an appearance as it rose full, big and orange over the water. Just gorgeous!!!

Thanks so much Pam and Nate for letting me be a part of your big day! :)

Michel & Mike ~ Richmond, VA

Posted on May 17, 2011

I met Michel through my husband at his holiday party for work…they got engaged that night.  She was over the moon excited…

When Michel and I sat down about a month later to chat about her wedding, it was the first time we got to talk and she and I hit it off…really great person and I knew her and Mike’s wedding would be a lot of fun.

They had their ceremony at the Maymount Foundation…which is a big historical park. There were lots of people there on that beautiful Sunday morning…wandering the gardens and taking in a warm sunny day…one of the first of the spring.

The tulips were in bloom and the Italian Garden was alive with beautiful ivy and flowers everywhere…a perfect place for Michel and Mike’s union to one another.

Michel’s son, Cameron, walk her down the isle and she looked simply amazing…

They had their intimate reception at the Old City Bar which is a beautiful old historic building in downtown Richmond.

I could tell everyone had a wonderful time…they danced and laughed and helped Michel and Mike celebrate their perfect day…

Congrats guys! I’m so glad you let me be a part of it all!!!

September 4, 2010 – second shooting for Kathy

Posted on February 3, 2011

I’ve been shooting for about 8 years now. I started out carrying around my sister’s (kathyweddings.com)bags for her when she went to shoot weddings. Not long after, she placed a camera in my hand and taught me the ins and outs of wedding photography. I was hooked. I love shooting weddings. I really love second shooting. It allows me to grow and see things from different angles and try all kinds of new stuff.

Then I started doing portraits and I really enjoy those just as much. I’ve been able to incorporate all I have learned into my portrait sessions.

Anyway, I am so grateful my sister, Kathy, introduced me into the photography world. LOVE YOU KATH! xoxo

These are some of the images I shot at our wedding in Clarksburg, MD back in September.

National Harbor – Ajie & Allen – wedding

Posted on November 5, 2010

I do a lot of second shooting for a few different photographers and I enjoy it immensely! I also do some weddings under my sister’s name Kathy Blanchard Photography.

This wedding was one of those through my awesome sis. Ajie and Allen were married on a beautiful June day. They had their ceremony at a beautiful church up on Capitol Hill and their reception was at the Sunset Room at National Harbor. We stopped at the Jefferson for some portraits and the day was absolutely wonderful!!! :)

Ring Shots

Posted on January 5, 2010

dsc_5400I was filtering through a gazillion images and came across this cool ring shot from a wedding last year. I always try to find some cool funky way of shooting rings. Who wants a boring old ring shot, right? This was a chess board that was set up in the hotel’s lobby.

OK, back to work! Trying to get all my next gallery images together! Have a great Tuesday!
