Naval Academy ~ Annapolis ~ Family Portrait

Posted on February 20, 2012

Candice first contacted me about doing a family portrait for her extended family who was going to be coming in from out of state. There were going to be 18 of them! (wow, I said!)

We met on the grounds of the Naval Academy because her husband had graduated from there. I knew there were lots ofย  areas for portraits of groups that large as well.

So I met Candice and her family, some of which were here from Virginia and California, and we walked around the grounds. It was a really, really cold day so we limited our outdoor pictures and opted for the warmth and beautiful space of Bancroft Hall.

Beautiful Kent Island Family Portrait

Posted on February 18, 2012

This is my second time creating images for Kendra and her family. It’s so hard to believe how much the kids have grown in the past 2 years!

This session took place in their new neighborhood that just happens to have a community dock. (I want to know how to get one of those!) ย  As we walked out onto the dock and I saw the beautiful grasses I knew that I wanted to use them as a backdrop.

The lighting was perfect and the kids were so awesome to work with…hence some awesome images. ๐Ÿ™‚

Patapsco Park Family Shoot

Posted on February 18, 2012

Patapsco State Park is a beautiful location that located along the Patapsco River. There are so many fabulous places to shoot there…I haven’t discovered nearly half of them, I’m sure. ๐Ÿ™‚

I met Emily, her mom, sister and niece and nephew there on a beautiful late October day.

We got some awesome images and we really had a lot of fun…those two little ones are so captivating!!! Even Emily’s Bulldog, Baron, seemed to have a great time! ๐Ÿ™‚

Petrie Family Portraits

Posted on September 22, 2011

Natalia contacted me through a reference from a friend. She had been unhappy with the pictures from her daughters daycare and wanted some real personal ones.

When I showed up at their home I was thrilled that their outfit choices were so simple and delicate…I had suggested that we go to Woodlawn Manor in Sandy Spring (that’s actually where my husband and I were married 10 years ago!).

I got so many smiles from the little one and was so thrilled with this session. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Petrie family!!! It was wonderful meeting you and I hope you enjoy these!

Garner Family Portraits

So…I photographed Melissa and Rob’s wedding 5 years ago (which was pretty awesome, by the way) and they came back to me wanting family pictures. I was overjoyed to be able to do them! We met at the picturesque Baker Park in Frederick, MD and got some pretty cool stuff before the storms came rolling in later that day. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks guys! I hope you enjoy your images!

Quinones/Pollack Family

Posted on September 8, 2011

I was fortunate enough to be asked to do a family portrait for Kim and her family…all 19 of them! ๐Ÿ™‚

I arrived at her mom’s house and everyone there was so sweet and welcoming. Her dad even showed me his Coke bottle collection, which I have to say was pretty impressive! We were able to do the largest portrait in the back yard and I was excited to use the Black Eyed Susan garden for the kids.

Thanks so much Kim and family! It was wonderful meeting you all!

Khan Family portrait session

Posted on June 25, 2011

One of the coolest places to shoot in Bowie is Foxhill Park. The lake is visible from the main road but getting to it is a good walk so it’s never busy with lots of people. That’s where I met the Khan family. The wanted to get some family shots to send off to family that lives out of town.

I have a 4 year old boy of my own so I was prepared for the energy their boys had. They loved checking out the turtles from the bridge (we must have seen at least 10 of them!). Their little sis is one lucky girl to have 2 sweet older brothers to look out for her.

Thanks so much Khan family! I hope you enjoy your images! ๐Ÿ™‚

Sanford Family ~ Meadowlark Gardens

Posted on June 17, 2011

Meadowlark Gardens is one of my favorite places to shoot. I’ve done a handful of weddings there but portrait sessions are fun because you have lots of time to take in everything there is to see there.

I had such a great time photographing the Sanford family. Their little ones are so sweet and funny.

I hope you enjoy your images! ๐Ÿ™‚

Little Mr “D” makes five…

Posted on January 11, 2011

I have known the Baltimore family for a few years now. Their kids went to my daughter’s elementary school…they go to our pool…they are a really awesome family. Little Mr “D” is one of the luckiest little guys to have such loving siblings and parents.

When mom asked me to take Mr “D”s newborn pics I was so excited! These were taken just a few weeks after being home…. Welcome to the world, little guy…

Russell Family – Maryland portrait photographer

Posted on December 8, 2010

The Russells live in southern Maryland so we met half way at Bayfront Park. It’s a really neat little beach where you can sift the sand for fossils. The weather cooperated with us and we had fun walking up and down the waterfront. Little E was adorable and their furry family member, Mater, even got the hang of things after a while.

I had a lot of fun, Samantha! I hope you enjoy these!
